Joy Jaksha – Dance Instructor

Joy Jaksha, dancer, choreographer, and instructor, has been dancing since the age of two. She began her dance journey observing her older sister in class. As soon as she was old enough, she became a dancer. She started competing at the age of six years old and by the time she was 12 years old she was choreographing her own solos and duets for competition. She has been teaching ballet, pointe, tap, jazz, hip hop, acrobatics, contemporary, floor work, improvisation, and other dance styles to students ages 2-18 for the past two years at Body Lab atx, Spicewood Texas.

Joy has had the privilege of performing professionally with Blue Lapis Light, Shepherd Allen’s Lost Boys, Ballet Arts of Austin and other esteemed companies. In addition she has had the opportunity to study with Roxanne Gage, Danny Herman, Rocker Verastique, Kristin Nicholiason, Sunny Shen, Kirsten Kemp, Heather O’Hara and many other generous and amazing teachers and choreographers.

Joy has completed her associates degree in dance at Austin Community College and is earning her Bachelor of Fine Arts in dance at Texas Tech University J.T and Margaret Talkington College of Visual and Performing Arts.
